Italian GP – Mugello – Quali Quotes

1st Bradley Smith, 1’58.134
“It has been a great day for me, setting pole position and a new lap record with it. My race pace is also really good. I was extremely focused today and everything worked out. I’ve been on pole before and I know that it doesn’t necessarily meaning everything is perfect for tomorrow. It is always difficult to escape when there’s a straight as long as this one and I think we’re going to see about eight or even ten riders fighting in the front group. So far it’s been a fantastic weekend and now I’m just hoping for a good start tomorrow. We made a few adjustments to improve the front end feel today and to be honest I don’t think we can make it much better now. The Aprilia engine is working perfectly and that will be crucial to make sure we don’t lose even the slightest bit of time on the straight tomorrow. There are obviously a few riders ahead of the game but like I said before I think it will be a group race and even the slightest mistake will be paid for dearly.”
2nd Scott Redding, 1’58.431
“In the practice this morning we had some problems, so we changed some things on the engine and the suspension and things went better. Now everything is working well, the weather helped us and the track was in better conditions than in the morning. The problem this morning was that we went off the line on the corners, I even went off the track, but now the set up is good. If we get a good start I think we have what we need to fight it out this season. It may rain tomorrow but with what we have I will try to take advantage of this classification to get a good result, between 3rd and 5th.”
10th Danny Webb, 1’59.478
“I’m not really happy with the 10th position of today. I can do better but now days it is very important not only to ride fast laps but also how you tactical build up a session. I tied to hook up several times to get a good tow at the straight but only once it was a really good tow and gave me a fast lap time. The other try’s to get a tow the rider in front of me got off the throttle and I lost a lap. In the last lap of the session I was together with Nicolas Terol but unfortunaly he wasn’t as fast as I thought and I couldn’t improve my lap time. Tenth position is not so bad and with a good start I can hook up with the leading group.”
