Kent caught out by rain, looking to make up positions during race

Red Bull Ajo Motorsport riders Jonas Folger and Danny Kent will start chasing better positions on Sunday when the season’s eighth 125cc Grand Prix is held in Mugello, Italy. Folger and Kent didn’t have enough time to do fast laps until the rain started in the Toscana at the beginning of the qualifying. British youngster Kent, who did well in practice, will start the race from 26th.

Ajo Motorsport’s rider Johann Zarzo took the first pole position of his career with a clear difference of 1,632 seconds ahead of Luis Salom. Kent was 4,494 seconds behind Zarco.

Aki Ajo: “We had agreed that we should do good laptimes straight away at the beginning in order to avoid the rain, but the boys were not fully awake and they started a bit too carefully. Well, in these circumstances it was quite understandable.”
