This milestone is the latest in a long line of achievements for Bridgestone in MotoGP since the Japanese tyre manufacturer entered the premier class of motorcycle grand prix racing back in 2002. To celebrate the special occasion, Bridgestone held a special event at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli on Friday, September 14 for MotoGP media, photographers, team members and series organisers.
Some of the riders that have won on Bridgestone MotoGP tyres also attended the event with Yamaha Factory Racing’s Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies, Ducati Team’s Valentino Rossi and Monster Yamaha Tech3’s Andrea Dovizioso sharing their most memorable races on Bridgestone tyres with the assembled guests.
The winners of a ‘100 Victories’ photography contest held by Bridgestone Europe were also unveiled at the gala event, with the grand prize of 1000 euros going to Nikolett Kovacs for her shot of a jubilant Jorge Lorenzo celebrating his capture of the 2010 MotoGP championship title at the 2010 Malaysian Grand Prix.

Kyota Futami – General Manager, Bridgestone Motorsport Department
“Bridgestone’s MotoGP project started over ten years ago with the goal of establishing the company as the world’s most technologically advanced tyre manufacturer. After winning many races and sharing in two championships, Bridgestone was given the honour of becoming Official Tyre Supplier to MotoGP in 2009 which was another significant step in realising this goal. The milestone of sharing in our hundredth MotoGP victory at Misano was the ideal opportunity to reflect on all we have achieved in this championship and to extend our thanks to everyone in the MotoGP paddock and the millions of racing fans around the world for all of their support over the years.”
